Deacons
Deacons at Riverside serve as ‘ministers of help and compassion’ and assist the elders by taking delegated leadership in certain practical, logistical, and administrative areas. In this way the various ministries of the church can be better served and the elders will be better able to focus on their primary responsibility of the spiritual leadership of the church family.

Six “Deacon Ministry Areas” have been established and deacons have been selected for each. In addition an elder has been assigned to work closely with each deacon in leading his or her Ministry Area. The following are the six Ministry Areas, the deacon responsible for it, and the elder who will work with the deacon:
- Fellowship and Assimilation – Kathy Russell – Phil Scull
- Building/Property – Matt and Rebecca Strader – Marc Bossert
- Mission and Outreach – Tom Muckian – Steve Olsen
- Nurture and Growth – Roger Luce – Adam Smith
- Finance – Paul Kruit – Dick Taylor
- Helps Ministry – Suzy Francis – Walt Barrett
