For those who have put their faith in Christ, the Bible calls us new creations - we have moved from death to a new life that is found in Jesus Christ. We can easily be tempted to go back to former ways that do not have Christ at their center. In Colossians 2:11-23, Paul cautions us against legalism (outward rules), mysticism (spiritual experiences), and asceticism (extreme self-denial).
